Bloom Public Health represented by the Director of Programs, Obianuju Nwabuzor, and Senior Program Manager | Lead, African Vaccine Academy, Olutoun Sanusi-Oladunni (B. Pharm, MBA), participated in the recently held EU Global Gateway Africa breakfast meeting.
Emphasizing skills enhancement, supplychain efficiency, and improved access to finance and markets, the European Union’s vision is in complete alignment with our vision of achieving health sovereignty for Africa. The African Vaccine Academy (AVA), an initiative spearheaded by Bloom Public Health in partnership with the Biotech Training Facility, Netherlands, is leading this charge. Our efforts extend beyond the mere establishment of facilities; we are dedicated to cultivating talent, promoting innovation, and developing a strong ecosystem for vaccine manufacturing across the continent.
Our current collaborations, including our partnership with the Biotech Training Facility, have illustrated the effectiveness of working together. Africa possesses the capability to become a leader in vaccine innovation and production. To achieve this objective, it is essential to persist in investing in local expertise, enhancing infrastructure, and cultivating partnerships that promote significant advancements. The EU Global Gateway Africa initiative provides an exceptional platform to expedite progress towards this aim.
Bloom Public Health is unwavering in its commitment to advancing public health innovation across Africa. We are dedicated to promoting public health through key initiatives such as the African Vaccine Academy, laboratory strengthening and diagnostics, public health policy, pharmaceutical quality systems, and supply chain management. Our mission remains focused on creating sustainable, impactful solutions for Africa’s health future.
