This week, Bloom Public Health Nigeria actively participated in the 2-day Malaria RDT Archiving and Validation SOP Review Workshop, organized by her partner, Sydani Group in Abuja. The workshop brought together key stakeholders, including the National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP), State Malaria Elimination Program (SMEP), Clinton Health Access Initiative, PATH, and ACE Strategy & Consult, to enhance malaria diagnostics and data quality in Nigeria.
The discussions focused on the Malaria RDT Capture and Reporting Assessment (MaCRA Part B) Study, with the primary goal of reviewing and finalizing the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and job aids for malaria RDT archiving and validation. This initiative aims to ensure uniformity, adherence to quality control standards, and improved implementation of malaria RDT interventions.
Key Benefits of the SOP:
✔ Standardized guidelines for malaria RDT archiving in health facilities, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality control standards.
✔ Enhanced reliability of reported data through validated RDT results, enabling more accurate decision-making.
✔ Improved accountability at state and national levels by aligning facility-level data with DHIS2.
✔ Clear roles and responsibilities to strengthen documentation practices and improve validation meeting outcomes.
At Bloom Public Health, we remain committed to strengthening health systems and contributing to impactful discussions that drive evidence-based malaria diagnostics and control efforts in Nigeria. Together, we can enhance the fight against malaria through quality data and standardized processes.
