Project Overview

Bloom Public Health supported the development of The State of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry in Africa Report (2005–2025), a landmark evidence-based assessment of Africa's pharmaceutical manufacturing landscape.

The project involved comprehensive research, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and policy review to evaluate the progress, challenges, opportunities, and investment needs of pharmaceutical manufacturing across the continent. The report was designed to provide policymakers, investors, development partners, and industry stakeholders with actionable insights to strengthen local pharmaceutical production, improve access to quality-assured medicines, and advance Africa's pharmaceutical sovereignty.

The findings serve as a strategic resource for informing continental health security priorities, industrial development strategies, and donor investments.
