Bloom Public Health Lesotho has entered into a strategic partnership with Lintle Envirotech Consultancy to strengthen the safe and sustainable management of hazardous pharmaceutical and medical waste across Lesotho.
Formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to improving public health and environmental sustainability by introducing innovative, technology-driven approaches to hazardous healthcare waste management.
The partnership will focus on supporting the development of modern waste disposal systems capable of safely managing pharmaceutical and medical waste while minimizing environmental impact. Through technical expertise, infrastructure development, and capacity building, the initiative seeks to strengthen Lesotho’s healthcare waste management ecosystem and promote long-term sustainability.
Key areas of collaboration include the establishment of effective hazardous waste disposal systems, modernization of treatment infrastructure, workforce development through technical training and mentorship, improved data collection and monitoring systems, and support for stronger regulatory frameworks that enhance governance and compliance across the healthcare sector.
The partnership also explores innovative environmental solutions, including carbon capture technologies, that contribute to cleaner healthcare operations while supporting broader national sustainability objectives.
By bringing together complementary expertise in public health and environmental management, Bloom Public Health Lesotho and Lintle Envirotech Consultancy aim to create a model for responsible healthcare waste management that can be adapted across other African countries facing similar environmental and public health challenges.
