Formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the collaboration establishes a framework for technical cooperation across key areas of Ethiopia’s pharmaceutical and healthcare ecosystem. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to building stronger regulatory institutions, improving public health outcomes, and advancing internationally recognized standards for medicines and food safety.
The partnership will support a broad range of initiatives, including strengthening pharmaceutical and food regulatory systems, enhancing laboratory capacity, promoting public awareness on the safe and rational use of medicines, and developing the technical competencies of regulatory personnel and laboratory professionals through training, mentorship, and knowledge exchange.
In addition, Bloom Public Health and EFDA will work together to strengthen quality management systems, promote regulatory practices aligned with World Health Organization (WHO) standards, and support initiatives that improve the availability of safe, effective, and quality-assured medical products throughout Ethiopia.
By combining technical expertise, institutional collaboration, and capacity development, the partnership seeks to reinforce Ethiopia’s regulatory framework while contributing to a more resilient healthcare system capable of protecting public health and supporting sustainable pharmaceutical sector development.
This collaboration reflects Bloom Public Health’s continued commitment to working alongside national regulatory authorities across Africa to strengthen health systems, build institutional capacity, and advance regulatory excellence as a foundation for safer healthcare and improved health outcomes.
